Do you want the misery in your marriage to end?
You may feel like you have walked this road so long…
Read the books, attended the workshops, listened to the speakers, podcasts, and webinars, done therapy, done counseling…
And still your husband is disconnected from you and your kids, preferring the company of his phone to real time with you. Or maybe it’s something else causing the disconnection. Maybe he spends more time managing his business than he does with you.
You brought it up, and maybe things got better for a few weeks, then he’s back to his old ways. Maybe he even gets resentful now when you tell him he is missing out on his kids growing up…
You may feel discouraged because he is investing in other relationships at work and at church, but not with you…
And maybe you are having fights about it… or you silently cry yourself to sleep at night, longing for connection.
What if there was a better way?
Maybe instead of leading with complaint (which is what most people do, btw), what if you said, “Hey babe, after dinner, can we go for a walk? I really want your advice about something?”
He will likely say yes.
Then when it’s time to leave, “Do you mind if we leave our phones at home? I don’t want us to be interrupted at all.”
He will likely agree to that as well.
Then you ask him about his day, how things are going, listen and be on his team. Supportive. 100%
He might ask you or you can bring up the thing you want to talk about …
Then you listen and appreciate his input.
You give him a big hug and a kiss and thank him when you get home. And maybe even other things… 😉
This makes YOU the best person to be with, the safest spot in his world… and starts a process for creating connection.
There IS a path to that!
Let us help you find it.
Instead of complaining, try being positive and winsome. Gottman’s research shows a healthy marriage has 20 positives to every one negative. During conflict, they exhibit 5 positives to every one negative.
How are your stats with that? Bet you can do better! And we can show you the specific positives that actually deepen intimacy.
What if God has a plan for your marriage? What if you HAVE been working hard, but on the wrong things?
Borrow my hope.
I’ve been there done that, bought the T-shirt. We’ve been to the therapists, been fired by a few and couldn’t get help. GOD healed our marriage, and if you are finally ready, He can heal yours, too!
Reach out with “let’s do this!” And we’ll connect.
I don’t work with everyone, and will be honest if I don’t think we can help.
Love to you,
Nina
