What’s keeping you stuck?
You’ve been reading posts and getting emails for a minute from me – and yet you haven’t created a situation where you and your spouse are moving forward TOGETHER.
Maybe you’re still “taking one for the team” – making excuses about why he can’t, how it’s a bad time, etc.
Instead of doing the thing you are waiting on him to do – change.
It’s risky, I know – but maybe you don’t see the risk in the avoidance you’re feeding now. Like a frog in a slowly boiling pot of water, it’s often not bad enough until it’s too late.
Potential trigger warning…
You can’t change your marriage by doing nothing now.
The “hoping it will get better” and “waiting and praying” can often be super lame excuses for not facing the fear of taking risk.
Note: I’m NOT criticizing God here – know there are plenty of times in the Bible where He didn’t move until His praying people took a step of their own! Even into river He was supposed to stop… it didn’t til they walked into it.
If you do nothing – considering the decline pattern you have been on – it’s likely to only get worse.
Your inaction (like mine, btw, I get this!) is part of the problem!
I’m not trying to scare you – it’s just what I’ve seen.
Unhappy women reach out to complain but won’t actually do anything til things get worse to the point that’s unbearable for them.
So basically what that means is you just added five years of misery before you got so fed up that you finally took action. AND… what IS that action?
Wait too long and you’ll lose the motivation to honor your covenant with God and the action will be filing for divorce. Or maybe your spouse has decided it’s now bad enough for them to just be done.
Deciding to work with us then still makes everything better, but it’s a lot more effort as there is even more to fix at that point.
Worst case, you split up the stuff, wreck your kids’ hearts even more, and then maybe start the whole cycle again with someone new.
Because you still haven’t changed.
I believe God is trying to teach us something in difficult marriages – and we help people figure that out and change things.
Dramatically.
Why waste the next several years in limbo when you can actually start in the next few weeks – and have something completely different in SIX MONTHS?
PM me and let’s sort this. We don’t take everyone, and our next group starts soon – just a few couple spots left.
Love to you,
Nina
PS … we have just a few couple seats available for this run of the Marriage Intensive. Email me at coachnina(at)greaterimpact.org if you and your spouse are finally ready to move into a much better space!
