Is there hope for your marriage?
Some of why I exist on the planet is to help Christians save their struggling marriages. If that isn’t you, please don’t read this as it will likely offend or hurt you.
That’s not my intent, but it might feel like reading how to get pregnant when you just lost a baby. Don’t put yourself through that.
LIKE ME … maybe you have been levied judgment from your church about the state of your marriage. Maybe you got told you shouldn’t lead in ministry because your marriage wasn’t perfect (from people who knew nothing about it) and that your being a leader at all wasn’t acceptable because you were female. Maybe you have been publicly called out in large groups for these things? Maybe you have done what God has called you to do, been misunderstood tons and accused of much, publicly, privately, AND maybe they’ve also gone after your kids?
Been there done that. Bought the Tshirt.
It IS hard to suffer judgment.
I personally understand the temptation of shame and judgment from well-meaning people… I also know there is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1) I know who “the accuser” is. Stop listening to him. He means to destroy you.
My point is nothing I say here is meant to judge you. I’ve had my chops busted more times than I want to count. My point is I understand being accused and would NEVER want you to experience judgment from me as I know how awful that is and wouldn’t do that to you.
And at the same time, I have stumbled upon a method that with God’s help, can overhaul a marriage for those who are called and willing. He did it with mine, and I’ve worked with Him to do it with many others.
I can’t keep quiet about it.
And you can accuse me of all sorts of things here if you like, but Acts 4:18-19 style (which He brought to me recently to encourage me to keep speaking up) I simply MUST follow Him here, to not would be sin for me. (James 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.)
Acts 18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
If your marriage is struggling, maybe you have been to couples counseling and it was awful? Without dunking on counselors, there are few that really have a plan that works to help. They continue the “crisis of the week” discussions which are proven to NOT work. They don’t know the relationship science that actually works.
I don’t want to come off as arrogant either. There were a lot of years I didn’t know how to help also.
The problem is too often people think they have “done everything” once they do counseling a few times, and unfortunately, they weren’t with someone who knew what is needed. And could actually help them get there.
We went to the therapists, read gobs of books, attended multiple retreats and intensives. Spent GOBS of money… And pieces of those things helped some, but never enough… and some made things worse.
Bottom line, God revealed this full-on PROCESS that is different, and it saved our marriage. I have come across NO ONE else who does what we do.
I know I wrote a few books, and we have a few courses – I do NOT have a book out there that cover ALL THIS yet, so no, you probably haven’t done this even if you have been with the ministry.
I can tell you in 20 minutes of conversation if we can help you or not. We also don’t take everyone, btw, as I’m not going to waste anyone’s time. Most people ask if I charge for this conversation and NO, I don’t.
If any of this resonates with you and you want to chat a few minutes to see what God may do, reach out via email at coachnina(at)greaterimpact.org with “hope” and we shall see if it’s a match.
Maybe you can borrow my hope after that, and we shall see what God does!
