Got Love?

Love your God.  Love your neighbor… We’ve heard these as the two biggest commandments of Him Whom we follow.

“If I really have a love relationship with God, it will show up in the way I treat my neighbors…” ~ Pastor Dick Lehman, Faith Church, 6/10/12

So, how’s that going?  🙂

How are we doing loving our closest neighbors, especially the one whose head rests on the pillow next to ours?  Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy,  it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  1Cor13:4-7

Dare you today to LOVE your neighbor, especially that guy you married.  🙂

Double dog dare you to choose to stay out of the debates around “egalitarian,” versus, “complementarian,” and “feminism,” and “patriarchical,” as none of those actual terms are even in the Bible, but are created by man so we can define ourselves and others…often resulting in judgment, when we should instead be loving others well.

Sometimes I think if we spent as much time just loving and serving others as we do arguing with others who also know Him, trying to be more right, justify our position, etc., the world would be better impacted.  “They would know we are Christians by our love,” rather than our internal bickering…

Triple dog dare you to let others be on their own journey, yes, even other Christians…

As for me, I’m just glad you are here, regardless of where you are in the journey.

Love to you,

~Nina

This is SO true!! One morning after having terse words, oh, did I forget to say Sunday morning?, we were reading Scripture in service and it said to love your enemies…. and i was struck with the Spiritual 2by4 and reminded that if i am to love my enemies then i certainly should be loving to my husband. He was gracious enough to let me drag him out of service so i could apologize for not being a loving wife that morning. Great reminder–thank you for the gentle way to encourage us to be better wives.
