Dare You to CHASE LIONS with Me Today…

Bet you didn’t even know this was in the Bible.

Lioness, (Panthera leo), in extreme close up

This came from a free e-book entitled “In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day” by Mark Batterson.

The book advertising says:

“Your greatest regret at the end of your life will be the lions you didn’t chase. You will look back longingly on risks not taken, opportunities not seized, and dreams not pursued. Stop running away from what scares you most and start chasing the God-ordained opportunities that cross your path. In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day is inspired by one of the most obscure yet courageous acts recorded in Scripture, a blessed and audacious act that left no regrets: “Benaiah chased a lion down into a pit. Then, despite the snow and slippery ground, he caught the lion and killed it” (2 Samuel 23:20 -21). Unleash the lion chaser within!

What if the life you really want, and the future God wants for you, is hiding right now in your biggest problem, your worst failure…your greatest fear?”

What’s your LION?  What LION are YOU choosing to chase? DARE YOU to comment here about that, and just so you know, I am chasing the “fear of leading” lion. I’m stepping things up. 🙂

Seriously.

SO very glad you are on the journey with us!

Love to you,

~Nina

Okay, just what I needed to read. Today I’m applying for a job. It’s going to have a pay cut, it willbe different from what I’m used to and comfortable with, but I feel that God didn’t just open the door, he blew it off it’s hinges. I’m tired of thinking what if, when will I…….I’m going out to chase that lion TODAY!

I just listened to 1/2 of this book this afternoon while working in my yard. It was much more thoughtful, challenging, and inspiring than I anticipated! It makes encourages us to face our fears, lest we end up living a life of regrets over “what could have been!” I especially appreciate how God centered it is. It’s not up to me, it’s up to what God will do through me as I stretch my faith to trust Him as I work through my struggles and challenges!

I’m chasing the “fear of emotional honesty” lion, and I am going to slay it… Or I know I will leave much on the table of life! I never was one to admit when my feelings were hurt (pride is a thief), and I shut down my wants and desires — even to myself– so I wouldn’t cost “extra” money as a youngster, but it’s time to embrace the real me so I can submit her to God and wholeheartedly follow the path he has for me. Thanks for the encouragement!
