Dare #18 Journey… Strength and Dignity 101

She is clothed in strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. (Proverbs 31:25)

There are times I don’t want to be a grown up.

I have three kids, a husband, a house, a ministry, and countless other responsibilities. Being a grown up is a difficult requirement of life to ignore.

In an effort to continue down this path I’m going to share the path of wisdom I’ve followed for ten years. I copied this idea after a lovely mentor and friend of mine let me know what Billy Graham does daily. If it’s good enough for him, it should be good enough for me.

I should also add that I have much room for growth in the wisdom department. Too often, I act like my artificially-induced, used-to-be-natural hair color.

Anyway, this path is reading the book of Proverbs from the Bible, commonly considered, “the book of wisdom.” Billy Graham also reads five chapters from the book of Psalms each day.

And in a confirming response to what I feel led to do, God gave me this verse:

Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock. (Mt. 7:24-25 NAS)
