What Do I Do if He Wants to and I Don’t??
You know what I mean… he’s touching you…has that smile on his face…THE LOOK… 🙂  and you’re touched out from dealing with kids, or exhausted from a long week of work, or just need some sleep because your teens have been keeping you up late and you’ve still had to get up early, or you’ve been sick…and you know where it’s going… what do you do? Guess what – there’s a way to obey God’s Word (which says our bodies are not our own), respect our husband, AND respect ourselves, taking care of the temple, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. It’s all in how you think, how you communicate. A simple,
“I love this idea, baby…Can we look forward to tomorrow afternoon because I just need to go to sleep like right now, I’m so exhausted?” will work wonders, especially when you know how to say it like we talk about in today’s broadcast (how to say it so you don’t destroy him and why that matters!) – and you may be surprised, but Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine, two solid Christian MALE role models fully agree!
In yesterday’s broadcast on FamilyLife Today, I gave 3 quick tips to start respecting your husband right NOW:
- STOP criticizing
- NIX the eye roll and exasperated sigh
- DO something with him, as his friend
In today’s show, you’ll hear more about how to honor both God and respect your husband AND yourself in the bedroom. We’ll also cover a few other things. Here’s an excerpt:
Bob:
Several thousand women. What kinds of stories—I mean, as you look back on several thousand women, and they’ve come in and told you stories—what are the ones that you go: “Exactly. That’s what we are hoping happens…?”
Nina:
Yes, the number one story that comes back that, frankly, is the reason that I do this is they grow closer to God. In growing their relationship with Jesus Christ, they are, then, able to experience their relationship with their husband and, frankly, all the people in their lives in a more healthy way.
They are able to resolve conflict better.
