One of the things I love doing is Skyping into or personally visiting local small groups doing The Respect Dare. I wish I could do it more. I just love talking about the real difficulties of marriage, and how we as women, can positively impact our families while encouraging them to uphold higher standards of behavior. I love helping the women phrase things differently to get their ideas across, but do so in a way that their husbands can hear them.
I also love praying and crying with them.
In lieu of what we’re working on (yes, still) with Daughters of Sarah®, I would love to have you join us as we discuss all the minutias of marriage as is discussed in the Bible. Honestly, I was inspired by Scott’s comments and posts and want to begin in the beginning like he did.
I want to talk about what it means to be female and married.
I want to discuss “respect,” “love, “roles,” “divorce,” “sex,” and “submission” in ways that doesn’t make us feeling like God hates women (which unfortunately, is prevalent in too much writing in and out of the church).
I want to talk about how men and women are different, how we are similar, and how these differences impact our marriages.
I want to talk about healthy conflict resolution.
So because it’s fall and I know a ton of you are doing the book in your Bible studies in a few weeks, I want to start these discussions the week of September 3rd.
Will you join us? You can subscribe to the blog, and it will show up in your email inbox – and don’t worry, we don’t share your info with anyone, ever. Feel free to invite friends to do it with you.
And if you are leading The Respect Dare with a group of friends this fall, I’d love to email you a copy of the Small Group Guide for free this weekend. Just send me an email at nina.roesner(at)GreaterImpact.org and I’ll shoot one off to you. If you want to register your group so others can find you, you can do that here.
Also, our ecourse is starting September 16th. You can find out more at TheRespectDare.com. It’s a confidential community where you can watch a short video once a week, then interact with a group of women doing book. We also have a lovely woman, Sandi Winnen, who walks with you and encourages you along the way. In the course you learn how to encourage others and have some gentle accountability for doing the dares. I pop in once a week or so, to comment and etc., too. It’s done on your time, in your home. We go through 5 dares a week.
At any rate, I hope you’ll subscribe and maybe join us in one of the above activities.
I’m so glad you are on the journey!
Love to you,
