Rated G, but for Marrieds…
While seemingly bizarre things like “hide and seek” made it onto my Thanksgiving list yesterday (we play it after dinner each year), another one I thought of this morning is something I’m thankful for… and it is a little strange sounding at first…
I’m not Sheila Wray-Gregoire.
Don’t get me wrong – she’s absolutely beautiful, articulate, super-smart, a talented speaker, amazing author, and a genuine woman. She covers a ton of topics with her speaking and writing, but what she’s well-known for at the moment are her discussions about what I refer to as “intimacy.”
She flat out calls it what it is… SEX.
She’s bold. She also hosts an intelligent, super-helpful discussion on the topic on a regular basis.
And I’m really glad she does – because that means I can just refer you to her, versus carry on all these discussions myself. J
And, if you aren’t married, you need to just stop reading right now, by the way.
And if you are, well, I’d fail miserably if I were to attempt to describe the cool stuff God has for you with Sheila’s website and resources.
Don’t get me wrong, we DO talk about these things in Daughters of Sarah, and in The Respect Dare, and while I acknowledge that the topic IS extremely important…well, to be honest, I am thankful my calling and Sheila’s are a little different. I am thankful God’s given her not just the ability, but the passion (no pun intended 🙂) to walk boldly into discussions about it. I am also thankful I don’t feel led to discuss it as frequently as she does.
If you are married, you know the impact – whether by issues, frequency, delight, fulfillment, or absence. So that being said, I’m just going to dare you (regardless of where you are in your journey) to choose to work on this area of your marriage.
Thankfully, Sheila has resources for you.
This is my favorite right now:
and it’s not expensive. 🙂
You can order it here, if interested.
Dare you to pursue holiness in this department as well. 🙂 It’s totally worth it. 🙂
Love to you,
~Nina
This is a landmine filled area for me…thanks for the link. Bless you both!
