“Want To Come Over to My House and Play?”
As a little girl, those were the most beautiful words in any language…our hearts ached to be with others our same size, who would enthusiastically enter into our world of wonder and imagination.
And it often didn’t matter what we did, as long as we did it together.
We would fight and make up and play some more. Our hands dirty, then cleaned up, faces red from sun-kissing blushed until we called each other on the phone or saw each other the next day… just to utter those magic words, “Want to come over to my house and play?” to do it all over again.
These days, I “play” with my girlfriends less than I want to, but our work in ministry is so much fun that it counts. 🙂 And I feel as though we are on the cusp of a movement of the Spirit – have you sensed that? I want to invite you, if you are interested. 🙂 I have felt for a long time that God is raising up an army of women who are going to make a difference in their marriages, a difference in their families – don’t you want to be part of that? I know I do!
We have been in ministry for 7 years this month, so we have some experience with that other guy, but he’s been working overtime lately – apparently something really good may be on its way… so consider yourself warned, and know I understand if you do not want to accept the invitation.
Would you like to be part of a very special group of bloggers and Facebook posters to help launch The Respect Dare this fall? I would be honored if you would pray about this opportunity, and if you decide to participate, as soon as possible, let Thomas Nelson Publishing know.
Here’s what they need from you if you want to join the book launch team. You would be part of a dedicated “get the word out team” for the book and be part of a private Facebook group the weeks leading up to launch on Dec 11. To join the launch team, all you need to do is the following:
Compose an email and send to NonFictionMarketing (at) ThomasNelson.com . The email should contain:
• Your name
• Website/Blog if available
• Twitter handle
• Why you want to be on the launch team
Thomas Nelson will contact you with information and help you get things going. If you choose not to participate, I totally understand, but highly covert your prayers. And this is our chance to do ministry together! I can’t wait to see what God’s going to do – The book has already sold twice the average traditionally published book (10,000 copies) and based on the last four months and especially the last several weeks, it’s clear the enemy does NOT want it out there, does not want people supporting it, and wants to discourage me and our ministry team as much as possible. And it may very well have already run its course as a book, or it might get in the hands of a whole bunch of women who have never done marriage like this!
If you are connected with someone else who might be good for us to contact, may I humbly ask you to do so as well? 🙂 I really feel this is God’s work, and know my heart is simply to do what God is leading us to do well. Please feel free to forward and invite others. 🙂
We need to know asap who else will be joining the team – the group is already beginning to join up on the Facebook page – it’s just wonderful! So don’t be shy, don’t hide – if you feel led, join us! 🙂 Don’t listen to that other guy – we’re all small, myself included – this is about His glory! And I can’t wait to see you – I do so hope you will come over and play!! It’s going to be so much fun! 🙂
Love to you,
~Nina
Can you please define a little bit more about the launching book team, im sorry is just im not sure i really understood what our role will be, but i will love to join, i just need more details!! Blessings!
Sandy – I’m not sure what it looks like exactly, as I’ve never done it before. 🙂 I know you would be part of a dedicated “get the word out team” for the book and be part of a private Facebook group the weeks leading up to launch on Dec 11. I think it means tweeting and facebooking, to whatever extent you can, and being part of a special prayer team as I get busier with articles and interviews – you get the “inside view” of some of it, I guess.
I have not read the Respect Dare book, just read these blog posts. Can I still help? I believe in the mission of building up our marriages!!!
Absolutely!! We’d love to have you!
Warmly,
Nina
Sent from my smart phone…please excuse the typos and brevity. 😀
I would love to be part of your group with Thomas Nelson but what do I have to do to get a website/blog? You know how I am with all this technology – don’t know what I’m doing so need help!
Love ya, Sandy
Sandy, I signed up for a free blog here at WordPress but I rarely actually write. It was very easy and user friendly. However, when I contacted Thomas Nelson earlier this week I did not mention the blog, simply told them that I have a Facebook account. I gave them the other information that Nina mentioned and they responded in less than 24 hours. I believe that you only need one source of social media in order to help with the launch. I hope this helps!
I’m personally super excited to have joined this team and am praying for the whole group of us as we come together to be this “army of women who are going to make a difference in their marriages, a difference in their families”. Praise God for His mighty works!
